PTI reported that Abdullah is optimistic about the statehood restorationand they will workout a possible timeline for the same.

This was Abdullah's second meeting with the Union minister after taking over as the first chief minister of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir which was carved out after the reorganisation of the erstwhile state in August 2019.

Abdullah attended the 18th Annual Tourism Summit 2024 organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in Delhi and on the sidelines of the event, he spoke to reporters to whom he informed, ""There are a lot of issues on which I need to talk with the home minister. Currently, J&K is a UT and we are expecting statehood. The home minister has a different role in the UT."

Abdullah said there were a lot of issues, including restoration of statehood, on which he needs to talk to the Union home minister. He is also expected to seek clarity on the Transaction of Business Rules (TBR) to get a clear sense of the powers of the elected government over various departments.

Earlier, Abdullah met with Shah on October 23 during his first visit to the national capital after assuming office on October 16.

Chen Benhai gave the hosts the lead with a fine field goal in the first quarter following an enterprising team move. But the highlight of the match was Chao Jieming's sensational solo effort in the second quarter.

Ahmad Nadeem, standing right on the left edge of the goal mouth, found the ball from inside the D just in the sixth minute of the opening whistle. He was in the perfect position to execute a slight deflection into the Indian goal and that is what he did to push Pakistan ahead in the match.
