Kongthoranee Sor Sommai was enjoying a seven-match winning streak before a three-round war with Superlek briefly derailed his momentum. At ONE Fight Night 28, his second chance against a living legend went much differently.

While he may have been overcome by the moment against Superlek, the #4-ranked flyweight Muay Thai contender looked outstanding against former longtime ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama to earn a unanimous decision victory.

The tactical performance put Kongthoranee on a three-fight winning streak, with each battle showing his evolution as a striker.

Keito Yamakita defended his #4 strawweight MMA ranking against the red-hot Lito Adiwang and positioned himself as a top candidate to challenge the winner of the ONE Strawweight MMA World Title unification bout between Joshua Pacio and Jarred Brooks at ONE 171: Qatar.

The Japanese star utilized his suffocating wrestling attack to smother Adiwang and flashed his overall grappling with various choke attempts.

While he could not oust “Thunder Kid” before the final bell, Yamakita earned a clean sweep on the judges’ scorecards. It marked his third consecutive victory while continuing to show his development as one of the division’s best talents.

Former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Felipe Lobo proved that his 2023 upset win over Saemapetch Fairtex was no fluke by earning a dominant victory in their rematch at ONE Fight Night 28.

“Demolition Man” did not have to rally this time around. The Brazilian figured out Saemapetch’s timing in the first round and then earned a pair of knockdowns in the second.

The barrage of combinations continued in the third frame, putting Saemapetch down twice more. With four total knockdowns, Lobo stood tall with a TKO win in his Thai rival’s backyard.

After coming up just short against the division’s elite, the 31-year-old Lobo proved he is still capable of taking out anyone with his powerful attacks.

After five consecutive wins at ONE Friday Fights, Carlo Bumina-ang was awarded a six-figure contract. While he stumbled in his first match on the global roster against Enkh-Orgil Baatarkhuu last year, the Filipino returned to top form at ONE Fight Night 28.

The same hunger that got him the contract resurfaced against Song Min Jong, giving the bantamweight MMA division another dangerous contender to watch.

Bumina-ang steadily marched forward in the early moments and landed stiff short punches that forced Song to attempt a takedown.
