The wildfires raging across Los Angeles County have wreaked havoc on communities, claiming lives and forcing more than 180,000 residents to flee their homes. 

Trade Undersecretary Allan Gepty, who is heading the negotiations for the Philippine side, told the Inquirer that some chapters of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the Middle Eastern country are almost substantially concluded after the latest round of talks held last week.

In separate advisories, Cleanfuel and Shell Pilipinas said diesel prices would climb by 90 centavos, while gasoline would increase by 45 centavos a liter.

Since igniting on Jan. 7, the fires have left behind destroyed properties and countless families in urgent need of aid.

Despite the tireless efforts of first responders, the massive inferno continues to spread, prompting widespread evacuations and an outpouring of support from local and national organizations.

Evacuees can head to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, where food and essential supplies are being distributed. Volunteers and donations are greatly needed to sustain relief efforts.

For those seeking more ways to help, the American Red Cross offers multiple donation options. Supporters can visit redcross.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS or text REDCROSS to 90999 to make a contribution. 

GoFundMe has stepped in by creating a centralized hub for verified campaigns related to the Southern California wildfires.

Additionally, GoFundMe.org has initiated the 2025 Wildfire Relief Fund, which promises to direct donations to individuals in need and nonprofit organizations actively involved in the relief operations.

Meanwhile, the LAUSD Education Emergency Relief Fund has been activated to provide immediate assistance to Los Angeles Unified School District employees and families impacted by the fires.

The Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE) is also playing a critical role by distributing emergency protective equipment, offering cash vouchers and assisting evacuees in navigating available resources.

Additionally, the Widows, Orphans & Disabled Firefighters Fund (WODFF) is assisting firefighters injured in the line of duty and offering financial and emotional support to their families.

As Los Angeles grapples with one of its most destructive wildfire seasons, community-driven support and donations remain crucial.
